Town of Wallkill Sgt. Barry Weissman has died after a battle with COVID-19. The town of Wallkill Police Department says he was an active member of the department and was dedicated to serving the community.
A farmer in Rochester has built a memorial honoring three victims of last week's military helicopter crash, including an Orange County man. The tribute in a field includes three flags at half-staff, one for each of the National Guardsmen killed. Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Prial, who grew up in Warwick, was among the victims. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
A former New Rochelle High School teacher will serve six months behind bars, and 10 years of probation for sexually abusing a student. John Fraioli pleaded guilty back in October to sexually abusing the New Rochelle High School student on several occasions in 2019. Fraioli also had to surrender his teaching license -- and is required to register as a sex offender
