Here are some of the stories making headlines today.
A U.S. marshal injured in a shooting, just south of the Westchester border, is recovering from home this morning. Officials say the officer was released on Saturday, just one day after the shootout with fugitive Andre Sterling. A second officer, reportedly in good condition, will remain hospitalized for a few more days. Sterling was killed in the gunfight Friday morning in the Bronx. He was wanted for the Nov. 20 shooting of a trooper during a traffic stop in Massachusetts.
A driver illegally passing a school bus with flashing red lights on was caught on camera. Ramapo police shared the video to their Facebook page with a message - "We're watching" - so drive safe. Police say is was lucky that the children were safely on their bus when the driver illegally passed the bus.
Officials are warning about a DMV scam being sent straight to phones. A message says the Real ID will soon be required for travel, and will take immediate action. Officials say do not click on this, or any links sent in an unsolicited text message. They say legitimate businesses will never ask for personal information through a text message.
