Here are some of the stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Ramapo police say they have arrested a man for shooting random cars and storefronts with a pellet gun. Officials say they received multiple calls in the Village of Airmont from witnesses stating their windows had been shot out by a man driving in a red pick-up truck. Investigators eventually arrested a 22-year-old Suffern man. Police say 20 vehicles and two storefront windows were damaged. He is due in court later this month.
Two men are facing charges after allegedly trying to steal an SUV from a home in New Rochelle. New Rochelle police say as the duo sped away on Davis Avenue, they crashed into a pole. Both men are due in court on the Nov. 23.
Police say a man used a hammer to smash the front window of SFR Discount Fine Jewelry in Ardsley Saturday morning and removed items from a display case. Police say he later crashed his car on Route 9-A before continuing onto the Saw Mill River Parkway, where he was arrested. Police were able to recover the jewelry and take a 41-year-old Queens man into custody.
