A Newburgh man has been convicted of criminal possession of a weapon after firing shots on Dubois Street last July. Frank Baltimore, 37, was found guilty on Wednesday following a trial. Authorities say Baltimore threatened people on Dubois Street before firing five shots into the air. Fortunately, no one was injured. Baltimore faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Sept. 3.

Hunter Street in Ossining is back open after a fire broke out on Wednesday evening. Police and fire departments responded to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. Authorities say no one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

An organization dedicated to helping immigrants in Rockland County is picking up the pieces after a burglary. Konbit Neg Lakay says 15 laptops were stolen from their office in Spring Valley sometime Sunday night. The laptops were for a program designed to assist new immigrants, specifically women and children, according to the organization's CEO Renold Julien. "It hurts because the thing is, I said to myself, 'Is there something that we didn't do right?' Because after 36 years, you really feel that you are part of the community, and everybody was going to protect you," Julien said. Spring Valley police are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
