Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
In Mount Vernon, 19-year-old Tyshawn Watkins, of Port Chester, was arrested this weekend on multiple charges, including attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Mount Vernon police arrested Watkins for allegedly firing multiple shots in the vicinity of South 2nd Avenue and West 3rd Street. Though no injuries were reported, several storefronts sustained damage in the area.
A domestic assault involving a knife in New Hempstead led to a suspect being taken into custody. Ramapo police responded to an incident at 4 Bonnie Court, where officers interacted with a group of individuals. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and further details regarding the incident are pending.
State police are investigating an incident at the Goshen Secure Center following an attempted attack on two staff members by several teens. While the Office of Children and Family Services oversees the facility, details about the incident are yet to be confirmed officially.
