Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A pedestrian is recuperating after being struck by a pickup truck in Ulster. The incident occurred on Morton Boulevard this past Tuesday. Town of Ulster police report that the woman, Lisa Munson, was taken to the hospital with injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities state that the driver remained at the scene, and the incident is currently under investigation.
A Middletown man is facing a 15-year prison term after being apprehended for drug-related offenses twice within a year. The Orange County District Attorney's Office reveals that Brive Crosske confessed to evading the police during a traffic stop last year. He fled into a wooded area, discarding more than an eighth of an ounce of cocaine. Crosske was apprehended but later released. He was arrested again in May of this year when 164 grams of cocaine were discovered in his apartment. Crosske was indicted and pleaded guilty in both cases.
Following a two-month narcotics inquiry, two individuals, Richard Mapp and Martine Arkube, were apprehended in the Village of Chester. They were found in possession of a bundle of fentanyl, fentanyl pills, and over eight thousand dollars. Both are now facing multiple charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
