Here are some of the stories making headlines across the
Hudson Valley.
A threat
and lockout now lifted at all schools in the Ossining
district. Police
say an individual called in a threat against the high
school. Students
were remote learning so the school was basically empty, with just a handful of
staffers and faculty inside the building. There is no word yet as to who made the
threat.
A Peekskill man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison
for a fatal shooting. Prosecutors say Demetrius pleaded guilty in September to
the 2018 shooting of Khalil Lyons, 22, of the Bronx. Police say the killing escalated
from an argument on Park Street in Peekskill.
Authorities
in Dutchess County are warning residents to lock up their cars. They say several theft investigations now
underway throughout the county involving high-end vehicles. Video shows someone getting into a car
that was left running at a gas station in Beekman and taking off. The Dutchess
Sheriff's Office tells News 12 the incident is just one of the more than two
dozen car thefts in the county this year.
