Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning near Grand Street. The victim, whose identity has not been released, is in critical condition. Police responded to the scene and found the victim injured. No further details about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing have been released. A military mortar shell was discovered Wednesday while a resident was clearing property in Philipstown, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies quickly responded to the scene and removed the shell. Authorities believe the shell dates back to the 1950s and had been in the area for a significant amount of time.
A man was arrested after allegedly stealing copper from his former employer, Richie Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning in New Rochelle. The business owner reportedly saw the suspect on a security camera stealing copper. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the man, who has not been identified. Police say the suspect also admitted to other burglaries at the store.
