Wallkill police have made an arrest in an assault at Garnet Health Medical Center on East Main Street last Thursday. A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder by a 15-year-old girl who was in the lobby waiting to be treated. The teenage suspect has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and was released on a desk appearance ticket.
Two people are recovering from a head-on collision in Mahopac. First responders were called to the scene on Friday afternoon in the area of I-85 Crane Road. Little information on the crash has been released.
The Wappingers Falls Police Department played a crucial role in stopping a major interstate theft scheme. Six people are being indicted for suspected crimes across New York and 12 other states along the East Coast. The defendants, all from New York, are accused of stealing more than $800,000 worth of rental cars and merchandise from Hertz, Lowe's and Home Depot from April 2022 to December 2023. One of the defendants remains at large.
