Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A 59-year-old man from Yorktown, currently on probation, faces charges of drug possession following a probation search last week. Police discovered cocaine, amphetamine, and other drugs, along with metal knuckles, during the search at the man's residence. The suspect was arraigned on the charges and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
In Yorktown, three individuals were arrested following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway last week. Police found $3,000 worth of stolen merchandise in their car. The two suspects from Yonkers and the third from Mount Vernon are charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
A Monsey man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his role in a fraudulent loan scheme totaling $1.4 million. Mendel Zilberberg, a member of Park Avenue Bank's board of directors, utilized his position to facilitate fraudulent loans for others. He was convicted of bank fraud and ordered to pay $1 million in restitution and $500,000 in forfeiture.
