Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Jerami Davis, a resident of Beacon, has been apprehended by authorities following an investigation into drug trafficking in the area. Davis faced arraignment in Dutchess County court and was subsequently released on probation. The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office issued a reminder to the public regarding the dangers associated with cocaine use. Cocaine is frequently found to be laced with fentanyl, a potent opioid that has been identified as the primary cause of overdose deaths within the county.
A Unionville man has pleaded guilty to a burglary charge. The Orange County District Attorney's Office says Jesse Frank is now facing a potential prison sentence of up to 9 years for his role in the burglary incident. Frank allegedly wielded a knife and threatened the occupant during a break-in at a residence in Unionville last May. He is set to return to court on May 7 for further proceedings.
Poughkeepsie police responded to a 911 call reporting a stolen car on Academy Street. Detectives quickly located the stolen vehicle and arrested Wilfredo Ortiz, who is now facing a grand larceny charge. Ortiz is currently in custody awaiting arraignment. The stolen car has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
