Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police in the Town of Poughkeepsie police have arrested a man who they stole a car. They say they received a report of a stolen vehicle Monday evening in the Arlington area of town. They later found Frans Bakter with the vehicle in the parking lot of Adams Fairacre Farms. Bakter is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and has been released on probation. It is the eighth time Bakter has been arrested for the same crime in the past 60 days.
A gas leak in Yonkers led to road closures on parts of Palisade Avenue and Ann Street yesterday. The Yonkers Fire Department says the gas came from electrical wires burning below the roadway, putting out dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. Officials say it's up to Con Edison to fix the problem.
And, congratulations to whoever bought second place winning lottery ticket at a New Windsor gas station. The New York Lottery says the Mega Millions prize was sold this week at the Blooming Grove Gas and Mart. Officials say it is worth a guaranteed $1 million.
