Here are some stories making headlines in the Hudson Valley.
Somers firefighters responded to a car fire at a Sunoco gas station on Route 100 on Saturday morning. Additional fire units managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread to the gas pumps or building. Details regarding injuries, if any, and the cause of the incident are still under investigation.
In Mahopac, one person is recovering after being pinned under their car. The driver, who attempted to prevent the rolling car after a crash, got trapped underneath. Rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to lift the car and free the driver, who was subsequently airlifted to the hospital.
A suspect is facing charges for burglaries in the Village of New Hempstead and Monsey. Ramapo Police report that the individual entered a building on cemetery grounds three times, removing proceeds from a charity box. Additionally, the same suspect committed similar offenses twice in a synagogue in Monsey. Burglary and petit larceny charges have been filed.
