Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
The bus driver involved in a serious school bus crash back in October has died. According to a social media page, 74-year-old Andrew Sanchez, known by children as "Mr. Andy," passed away after a six-week battle in the hospital. Investigators say his school bus was hit head-on by a tree removal truck that crossed over the double line on Route 207 in October. Police say they are waiting on lab results to determine if charges will be filed.
Police say a 70-year-old Orange County man was struck by a tractor-trailer while walking on the shoulder of Route 17 in Wallkill Tuesday. News 12 was told the driver stopped immediately and called 911. At the request of the family, the victim's name is not being released.
Police are still searching for a suspect after an attempted robbery in New Rochelle on Wednesday. The suspect allegedly tried to take the victim's wallet. That's when a struggle broke out and the victim was slashed in the face. Officials say the victim is now at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. So far, no arrests have been made.
