Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A 27-year-old man is now indicted on murder and assault changes. Darin Peterson is accused of stabbing two people at Oiso Restaurant in Blauvelt earlier this month. One of the victims, 30-year-old Caneggio Grant, died from his injuries.
One worker was killed in a trench collapse at a construction site in the Woodbury Villas in Central Valley Monday morning. Police say a 43-year-old construction worker was buried after the 10-foot ditch he was digging collapsed, with no trench safety box in place. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of all next of kin.
A suspected bank robber has been caught by police. Authorities say Leonard Dolson, 45, of Beekman, was involved in a carjacking in the city of Newburgh before slipping a teller a note at Rhinebeck Bank in Goshen on Saturday. Officials say there was a chase on the Palisades Parkway and a foot pursuit. Two officers are recovering from their injuries this morning.
