Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.

Richard Whitted, a five-time convicted felon, was apprehended once more, this time found carrying a loaded semi-automatic firearm and narcotics in Poughkeepsie. Police reported that Whitted attempted to flee during a traffic stop along Smith Street near Hudson Garden Apartments. He is now facing charges for firearm possession, resisting arrest, drug possession, and additional offenses. Currently in jail, Whitted awaits arraignment.

A shooting investigation is underway in Poughkeepsie following an incident on the 300 block of Main Street just before midnight Saturday. Police responded to find a 35-year-old man with a head injury, allegedly from a gunshot. The victim was swiftly taken to the hospital. Detectives are actively investigating and urge anyone with information to contact the confidential tip line at 845-451-7577.

A man is in custody following a stabbing incident in Mount Vernon. Police say the incident happened at 535 S. 8th Ave., where a woman sustained multiple non-life-threatening injuries. She is currently receiving treatment at Jacobi Medical Center.
