Letters of hate have marred Martin Luther King Jr. Day for some Somers homeowners who say they won't stand for it.
State police are investigating the letters, which are believed to be from the group North East White Pride. However, authorities say the writings don't constitute a crime. Residents on Meadow Lane found the fliers over the weekend sealed in Ziploc bags to shield the hate-filled messages from the rain.
Residents say the fliers, telling whites to "embrace your race," are disrespectful to slain civil rights leader Dr. King. They also say they're appalled and they don't want racism in their quiet community.
