An 18-month-old baby boy died Thursday at Westchester Medical Center from major head trauma after a television set fell on top of him.
The incident happened on Tuesday in Hastings. Police say they received a 911 call from the boy's babysitter, who said the toddler was playing with the buttons on an old RCA television when it toppled over.
Officers who responded to the call rushed the child to St. John's Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where he later died.
Authorities are trying to determine if the babysitter is to blame for the child's death, or if it was just an accident.
