Students at Hillside Elementary School in Hastings showed appreciation for veterans in a ceremony on Friday.

Jim Pasanello was the oldest Veteran at Friday's ceremony. He’s 94 years old and served in Europe in World War II.

Students honored the veterans with speeches on courage and physical demonstrations on what soldiers would do in basic training, such as jumping jacks.

The children told News 12 they’ll continue to honor the servicemen and women throughout the year.
