A Hartsdale couple was forced to flee their home after an early morning fire.
Fire officials says the wife, who woke up to take the dog out, saw smoke coming from the light fixtures around 3 a.m. today at her house on Cross Hill Road. She woke up her husband, and they got out of the house.
Crews arrived quickly, but say it was a tough fire to put out because it was in the cross fixtures above the ceiling, and they had to take down the parts of the ceiling to get to it.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
