A Harrison woman is dead after a car she was in with one of her friends went overboard off a Florida ferry.
Florida police say 75-year-old Viviane Brahms was leaving Miami's exclusive Fisher Island with her friend, 63-year-old Emma Aftra, when their Mercedes Benz went overboard Tuesday evening at about 5.
Search crews looked for the women and their car for hours. They were finally able to pull the car from the water Tuesday night with both women still inside.
Brahms lived in Harrison. Her home is currently on the market for $1.8 million.
The socialite was well known for her popular New York City club called the Red Zone. The club opened sometime in the 1970s and became a hot spot in Manhattan.
