The town of Harrison will have its first Republican primary for supervisor in decades.
Current Supervisor Ron Belmont is being challenged by former Supervisor Phil Marraccini.
Marraccini, who served as supervisor about 20 years ago, has criticized Belmont for neglecting the downtown.
Marraccini says he wants to bring new businesses in and have a uniform look along Halstead Avenue.
The Democrat in the race is Elizabeth Schaper. She will face the primary winner in November. The primary is next Thursday.
