Senior citizens are now eligible for a big tax break in Harrison as the town has announced it has passed a resolution to amend Chapter 207 of the Town Code, "Taxation."
It amended Article II, "Senior Citizen Exemption," potentially allowing eligible senior citizens to receive additional deductions on their property taxes.
If you're an eligible senior and want to take advantage of the exemption on your property taxes next year, you must apply by May 1.
Applications can be found online at tax.ny.gov. You can also pick one up at the assessor's office or the senior centers in downtown and West Harrison.
