Harrison police credit their patrol initiative with saving the life of an elderly woman who had fallen in her home and was knocked unconscious.
While making their rounds last week, officers Robert Carlucci, Richard Abbate and Tom Milone heard cries for help coming from the locked house of an 87-year-old woman. One of the officers climbed in through the window and found the senior on the floor, where she had been lying for 15 hours.
Harrison police say checking up on seniors daily not only helps save lives, but also deters people from taking advantage of seniors.
