Anyone hoping for another beach day before the official end of summer is in luck.
The Village of Mamaroneck announced on Tuesday that they will extend swimming and sprayground hours at Harbor Island Park.
The Stephen E. Johnston Beach will remain open on Sept. 8, 9, and 10, as well as Sept. 15, and 16.
Mayor Tom Murphy says he wanted to give residents a chance to make the most of a particularly rainy summer.
The Recreation Department will monitor participation to see if the extended season should become a regular occurrence.
