It was a night to honor sports Hall of Famers in the Hudson Valley last night.
Former Knicks great Walt "Clyde" Frazier was the guest speaker last night at the Rockland Business Associations' annual celebrity dinner.
Frazier says he's now involved in basketball camps, teaching kids about being active and enjoying the game. "Winning is important, but it's not everything. Sometimes it's the participation and today with obesity with our kids, getting them to be active to get off the computer to get out and have fun. That's a big problem for them, so the camps are instrumental in that," says Frazier.
In Westchester, NFL Hall of Famer and White Plains native Art Monk was recognized last night at the Crowne Plaza by the White Plains Youth Bureau.
The organization runs 50 programs which help the youth of White Plains grow into successful adults. "Because of my past experience and how I was raised and brought up and people who influenced my life, I've always found the time to give back and help support young people and organizations who do the same," says Monk.
