Gunshots fired near a Peekskill school forced a districtwide lockout today.
Superintendent of Schools Larry Licopoli enacted emergency procedures shortly after noon while police investigated.
Police found shell casings at a scene about five blocks from the high school near Main and North Division streets. One of the bullets pierced through a vacant storefront window. A car was also hit.
No one was injured during the incident.
The lockout was lifted after police gave the all clear at around 1:45 p.m.
Police are looking for two men believed to be involved in the incident. They say one of these men might have been the intended target.
The gunman used a 9 mm gun, according to authorities.
