An 8-year-old girl from Sleepy Hallow who is living with Guillain-Barré syndrome is receiving help from the Hudson Valley community.
Yuleiri Gomez’s condition affects her overall mobility. A GoFundMe page and a bake sale held by Wyatt Lacey raised money for her ongoing medical care.
The Gullotta House, a Westchester based nonprofit presented Gomez and her parents with a $8,000 check on Sunday. The money is a combination of the more than $1,300 from the bake sale and about $7,700 from the online fundraiser.
"This is going to go to help Yuleisi and her family with medical expenses, bills and things like that,” says Darlene Kapica of Gullotta House.
