Candidate for New York governor Rick Lazio made a stop on the campaign trail in Yonkers Thursday to meet with Hispanic leaders just days after entering the race.
Lazio, a former Republican senatorial candidate, answered questions and outlined his platform, which includes the overhaul of the state Legislature, job creation, health care and education.
A recent Siena Research Institute Poll shows Lazio is trailing Democratic Gov. David Paterson in a hypothetical match-up.
Paterson's position, however, has been compromised recently after reports surfaced that President Barack Obama wants him to drop out of the race, paving the way for Democratic frontrunner Andrew Cuomo.
