A security guard shot in Mount Vernon after confronting a group of kids that were throwing eggs on Halloween has died.
Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Chong said 52-year-old Neville Webb, of White Plains, died overnight at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. He was shot in the head in the rear parking lot of the Oakwood Gardens apartment complex.
Webb was the father of Chris Webb, a candidate for the Mount Vernon City Council.
Commissioner Chong says this is now a homicide case, and adds there are currently no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department at 914-665-2421.
