A group effort is underway to help failing community schools in Yonkers.
Community School 13 is one of a number of schools on a list of struggling schools. There are extra services in place to help children in all areas.
Westhab, a nonprofit that runs an after-school program, is just one of many groups giving back to the community.
The school also has a psychotherapist on staff five days a week. The kids can even visit the dentist at school.
It takes funding to keep all of these good things in place at a community school. That's why Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins is sponsoring a bill to create a $25 million community school program.
