A gas grill explosion has badly damaged a home in in New City.
When firefighters arrived yesterday at the house on Snowdrop Drive, they found the deck and the rear of the house already engulfed in flames.
Three people were inside the house when the fire erupted, but everyone was able to get out safely.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the explosion. The grill was connected to a gas line coming from the house, but it's not clear if that played a role in the fire. "Usually outside grills are safe, and the grill was quite a distance away from the house, so, [we] don't know," says New City Fire Chief James Avaras.
