Plans for a skate park in Greenwood Lake are starting to take shape in memory of a local teen who died in a car crash.
The park, located on Windermere Avenue, had an unveiling of the future park's sign today with a ribbon cutting.
The plans are to honor Dale Hirrel, who died in a car accident two years ago.
Organizers say they hope to give kids and teens a safe spot to enjoy skating.
The project is expected to cost $300,000 to build, and organizers are relying entirely on donations to make up those funds.
They hope to have the project completed within three years.
