Greenburgh residents still waiting for answers after 2 years living near loud pumping station, exposed sewage

Residents on East Hartsdale Avenue in Greenburgh are still waiting for answers after two years of living near a loud pumping station and exposed sewage.
Town officials say new high-tech camera footage shows the damaged sewer pipe may not be underneath nearby buildings — a finding that could change the scope of a repair project once estimated at $24 million.
That appears to contradict earlier statements from a town engineer, who said in January the damage was at least partly under the building and would require major work.
Greenburgh paid more than $141,000 to Collier Engineering for repair plans based on that earlier assessment.
The building’s property manager told News 12 the specialized camera technology used last week was not available two years ago and says the existing repair plans are still valid.
Tenants say they are frustrated and skeptical as they wait for a permanent fix.
The Greenburgh DPW says it is actively pursuing next steps.
