Greenburgh officials try to make Early Voting process easier after hours-long lines

Voters across the Hudson Valley are flocking to the polls this week to vote early - but some lines are hours long.
But those long lines aren’t keeping voters away in Greenburgh.
"People should just accept that they're going to have to wait on line for a bit,” says Karen Dreher, a Hartsdale resident.
For Karen and Ted Dreher, Greenburgh’s livestream of the line at the Town Hall was helpful in them deciding when to go vote.
"I looked at it several times today to see if the line was shrinking,” says Dreher.

But voters told News 12 it is worth the wait.
"I would have stood on a much longer line if it meant getting my vote in,” says Dreher.
"Standing in line is an investment for what you believe,” says Barbara Shapiro, an Edgemont resident.
"This is the most important election ever but I really believe it this time. I wouldn't miss this for anything,” says Richard Vergara, a Hartsdale resident.
Paul Feiner, Greenburgh town supervisor, is trying to make the voting process more convenient with a livestream video. It shows the lobby and parking lot of the town hall so voters know what the line looks like before going to vote.
Feiner is also looking for food trucks and local performers to come and sell food and entertain voters while they are waiting on line. Feiner said food trucks need a peddler’s license so they can comply with county health and safety regulations.
“We're showing that we care about the voters and we want to make it easier for them to vote and vote when there's less crowds,” says Feiner.
The Town of Greenburgh had the livestream and food vendors four years ago during the election season.
