A grand jury will investigate an encounter between a Putnam County man and state troopers that resulted in the man?s shooting death.Gary Kressman, 51, was shot by a state trooper Saturday night. Kressman?s parents in Yonkers called police to Kressman?s condo. Putnam County DA Kevin Wright says when the troopers arrived at Kressman?s Brewster condo he was drunk, barricaded in a bathroom. He emerged carrying a handgun.According to Wright, the troopers tried to get him to put his gun down before leaving the bathroom. It could take the grand jury weeks to reach a conclusion. The Putnam County Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy.
