Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed copies of his new book in Manhattan Wednesday with less than three weeks to go before Election Day.
Cuomo is giving the public a closer look at his political and personal life with his new memoir.
The signing in Union Square was one of a number of high-profile appearances as his book hits the shelves this week.
The governor's challenger, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, offered to pay $1,000 to anyone who crashed the book signing event and get the governor to answer questions on camera about his now-defunct anti-corruption commission.
Astorino says voters deserve to know if Cuomo is the subject of a federal investigation related to the Moreland Commission.
But, the governor did not take any questions at the event from the media or the public.
Outside the event, about 100 protesters called on the governor to oppose the controversial natural gas drilling technique known as fracking. Cuomo has not taken a position on the issue, citing the need for further studies.
As for Astorino's challenge, the state Democratic Party is firing back by offering $2,000 to anyone who can ask Astorino on camera why he won't release five years worth of his tax returns.
Astorino has released his latest tax return and says he will release more if Cuomo agrees to a one-on-one televised debate.
