Later today, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is expected to announce whether schools will resume for the year.
The governor ordered the statewide shutdown in mid-March.
On Thursday, New York State canceled the summer round of Regents scheduled for August. Right now, testing scheduled for January remains on the calendar.
Gov. Cuomo says the human cost of this pandemic is still high and that more than 18,000 people have died. He says we need to take precautions before fully reopening New York. "Everybody wants to reopen. The caveat is don't reopen in a way that increases the spread of the virus."
