Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday that some youth sports such as baseball could start up again in certain New York regions as soon as early next month.
During his daily update Sunday, Gov. Cuomo said “low-risk” athletics could resume starting July 6 in areas that are in phase three of the state’s reopening plan amid the coronavirus.
Some examples of low risk sports include gymnastics, baseball, softball, field hockey, cross country and crew.
Attendance will be limited to two spectators per child.
The Mid-Hudson Valley region could enter phase three as soon as Tuesday, June 23.
