The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers is under arrest Thursday thanks to a Good Samaritan.
According to state police, the driver of a Mustang rear-ended a Dodge Durango while the two were traveling northbound on the parkway about 6 p.m. The Durango veered off in a wooded area, killing the 33-year-old Ossining man behind the wheel. The driver who allegedly caused the accident sped off. Police say a 58-year-old Mount Kisco man who witnessed the incident followed the Mustang and alerted police, who caught the driver minutes later in Greenburgh.
State police are holding a 45-year-old Bronx woman in Hawthorne. She is charged with DWI, but officials say more charges are expected. Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call them at 914-769-2600.
