It's been one year since COVID-19 first hit hospitals in the Hudson Valley, and staff at Good Samaritan in Suffern say it's a whole new fight for front-line workers.

Hospital staff are now vaccinated, testing is in high supply and there are treatments available, including Regeneron's antibody cocktail, as well as three vaccines.

There's also no shortage of PPE and masks.

The hospital says even the new cases they're seeing are less severe, which they believe is attributed to social distancing.

COVID-19 overwhelmed New York hospitals last spring, sending capacity over 150%.

Good Samaritan was taking in 100 COVID-positive patients every 24 hours, overwhelming staff and overflowing rooms.

In total, Good Samaritan has discharged over 1,200 patients who had COVID-19.
