Good Samaritan creates GoFundMe for 83-year-old woman who was attacked in White Plains
A good Samaritan created a fundraising effort after seeing News 12's story on an 83-year-old Korean woman who was attacked in White Plains last week.
David Sanford and his friends in Bronxville created a GoFundMe on Thursday afternoon. It has already raised more than $14,000.
Police say that Nancy Toh was at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Bloomingdale Road on the evening of March 9 when a homeless man named Glenmore Nembhard attacked her.
Police say he spit on Toh and punched her in the face, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground. The impact apparently caused her to blackout. When she regained her senses, he was gone.
Nembhard was later arrested.
The GoFundMe page aims to help Toh with medical costs.
