Bright lights cut through a dark December evening in Valhalla as Westchester County first responders gathered outside Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital for “Good Night Lights” – an annual show of holiday cheer for young patients and their families.
Police, fire, EMS and emergency services from across the county lined the roadway, flashing blue and red lights and waving to children watching from hospital windows and from outside in the cold. Music filled the air as responders and families came together to celebrate the season and lift spirits.
Patients say the display brought smiles and comfort during a difficult time. First responders say the event is about showing support and reminding children they are not alone.
Organizers say the goal is simple – spread hope, gratitude and joy to children fighting serious illnesses.
