A golf fundraiser will be held next week in Briarcliff Manor to help support the memorial foundation of a fallen hero.
In 2015, West Harrison resident Joseph Lemm was killed while deployed in Afghanistan.
Lemm, who served in the NYPD and Air National Guard, was an athlete of many sports but golf wasn't one of them.
But next Monday, over 130 golfers will gather at Trump National to honor him for his service and the ultimate sacrifice he made.
His wife Christine runs a foundation in his memory and is the driving force of this event. “I chose golf because I personally love playing golf, I worked in the industry for a short time. I'm friendly with so many that love to play golf and that want to honor Joe and want to play and have a good time in his memory. You know for me, keeping Joe's memory alive is not about tears and sorrow. Now it's about smiling about Joe, about his life, what he stood for and honoring the life he lived,” says Christine.
So much interest has been shown for this event that Christine is already working on the second annual memorial golf classic.
