The world?s best golfers teed off Thursday for round one of The Barclays at the Westchester Country Club.
Thousands of golf fans will head to Harrison over the next four days for the PGA?s annual stop in Westchester. The Barclays kicks off the beginning of the first-ever PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup.
Defending champion Vijay Singh struggled on his first nine holes. Golf enthusiasts watched fan-favorite Phil Mickelson as he birdied and bogeyed his way through the course. Noticeably absent was Tiger Woods, who is taking the week off to rest.
Fans heading to tournament are advised to take shuttle buses provided on lots surrounding the club.
