Jorge Arbayza De La Cruz, 51, was shot and killed last Thursday.
Police are still searching for his killer.
De La Cruz's family is now seeking donations to help lay him to rest and to make their community safer for other cab drivers.
They're raising money to fund cameras in the city of Newburgh to prevent crimes like this one from happening again.
They've started a GoFundMe page in the hope of raising $30,000.
Funeral services for Del La Cruz are set for Saturday.
