Now, the question I have about the mayor is that the weather down in DC, a warmer than the weather here because it's got to be at least a little bit better. It is a little bit warmer in DC. But you know, we are dealing with that really cold pocket of air that is taking us just for one more day. But we are going to turn our eyes for the weekend an early look for what are some potential impacts for this storm. So some thunderstorms in December, that's what is possible for Sunday evening into Monday, steady rain isolated flooding high winds of 40 MPH or even stronger that can knock down some decorations even cause some scattered power outages and then temperatures start to crash. So we're forecasting a high of 61 on Sunday by Monday night. It's going to be in the 30. So that's something that we need to monitor in terms of tomorrow. Another very cold start, temperatures will be near 29 feeling much colder than that high. Tomorrow will be in the low forties, feeling like the mid thirties throughout the day. A few flurries possible by the early afternoon drying out and clouds clearing out by Friday. Seeing more of that sunshine seasonable fill with highs in the upper forties. Saturday will actually be the pick of the week. We're going to see that beautiful sunshine highs in the mid fifties and then we're watching for some stormy weather on Sunday.

Joining us. Now we decided it's a purple day. We match match. It's gonna be a good day. Yeah, it's also the start of Hanukkah and we've got, you were saying earlier, the coldest temperatures we've seen this week. Yeah, just like last week, Wednesday into Thursday, it was a very cold morning. We're dealing with that same cold for us today. Now, just keep that in mind as you make your way out the door, you're gonna want to bundle up, you're gonna need that layer, that extra layer, that sweatshirt, the hat, the gloves. Because while we're gonna try to get into the upper some spots may try to see 40 we're gonna feel like the thirties throughout the day. That wind chill is still gonna stay locked in and we're not getting out of this pattern until maybe the later party or tomorrow. So again, get into this routine tomorrow morning, you're looking at another cold start, maybe not quite as cold, but for tonight, temperatures dropping off down into the twenties, for areas up north, we'll try to hold on to thirties for areas along the shoreline. A lot of cloud cover for today. We're not seeing a lot of sunshine to help warm things up. So that's part of why we're going to continue to work with this chilly weather. And again, we're sitting anywhere from 10, almost 15 degrees cooler than where we should be for this time of year. Now, we're not going to rule out a few flakes or two like we saw yesterday for a lot of us here across Western Connecticut. But as we push forward into your tomorrow, better chance at some sunshine for the start of the day, numbers are going to be in the lower to mid thirties. We'll climb into the lower forties. It's really going to be your afternoon. You'll start to feel a little bit more relief, not quite as blustery as what we're going to deal with for you today. But look ahead to your Saturday, Saturday afternoon. Those numbers are in the mid f. It's going to be a nice day, mixture of sun and clouds, enjoy it because unfortunately, we do have again, a very strong wind driven system pushing in and we also have some colder air behind it. So once we work away into our Sunday where we're watching for some steady to heavy rain, we also have strong gusty damaging winds, potentially, maybe want to, you know, tie down those Christmas decorations or bring them in. That's how strong some of these winds are expected to get here across the region. So we're going to keep our eye on your Sunday into your Monday and we're really going to watch for some heavy rain and some potentially damaging.

Got to love the sound of that. How fun. All right, as we wake up this morning, we are looking ahead to the weekend. Good morning, Matt. Yeah. And we are tracking a potentially significant rain and wind threat, Lisa. So I just want to bring everyone the latest information on that as we see it this morning. And this is a featurecast starting off Sunday morning, which is, it'll be a dry start on Sunday. It's really rain showers breaking out during the afternoon with temperatures actually surging into the middle and upper fifties throughout the day. On Sunday will hit a high near 60 late in the day. Now, the worst of the rain and winds will be towards the evening. So after around eight or nine o'clock Sunday night, we have moderate to heavy rain developing. And then during the overnight hours, this will begin to push out of the lower Hudson Valley to where by around say 56 o'clock Monday morning, most of this is gone. Still a little bit windy on the backside of this storm though. And I do expect it to be all rain here across the Hudson Valley, but we could be looking at some gusts over 40 MPH. A lot of times the computer models, especially several days out with a storm like this, they overdo the wind gusts. So I don't think we'll see frequent 50 mile an hour gusts here, but definitely in the 3040 mile per hour range. And that's a problem for all the holiday decorations too. So, you got to think about that a few days out before we get to those stronger winds developing throughout the day. On Sunday. Back to our Thursday. Today, it's a cold ST to the day with temperatures feeling like mostly the twenties, but even at times like the upper teens, 16 is what it feels like in Newburgh right now. 22 in Poughkeepsie. And that's with just a light breeze at around 5 to 10 MPH Doppler radar right now is dry locally, but there are some snow showers off to the west of us and a few of these will survive as at least a few flurries as we go throughout the day. A similar day to yesterday. We, we're a lot of the days dry and mostly cloudy, but a few scattered flurries will be around. It could even be a light steady or snow shower, which can lead to a quick coating in a few spots. But that's a very isolated issue just like yesterday. So, overall smile worthy weather today, most of the day is ok. A few festive snow flurries around temperatures in the upper thirties tonight. Back down into the upper twenties to near 30 under partly cloudy skies. Here's the 10 day nicer tomorrow into the weekend. Saturday. Still the pick of the week before that rain and wind moves in Sunday into early Monday. The rest of next week dry with highs in the forties.

With us. What a great group of girls that is always do such a great job. All right, back in the weather center now with Rich yesterday at the bus stop in the afternoon, the bus driver pulls up. He's like, where is everybody? And then we all come running out our doors to pick up the kids. It was that cold. Yeah, it was cold out there. You're more cold weather today before we see a warm up. But then we also track a storm and rich out here this morning. We're seeing some clear skies over portions of Long Island and the temperatures really tumbled overnight. Your view right now, Riverhead seeing that sun rise, it is going to come up right here over this tree over the next 30 minutes outside. In that page, you can see low on the horizon. You can see the hints of that sunrise, but right here, that's where that cloud deck starts. And you will notice more clouds today than sunshine with the cold weather conditions right now, cold twenties around the island. Your current temperature bridge Hampton at 2921 right now in Riverhead 29 Bajo 31 have said 32 degrees. Good morning in Valley Stream. The Oceanside Huntington's at 28 and 25 degrees. Right now in Smithtown, a little bit of a wind. It feels more like the low twenties around most of Long Island. So you need to bundle up as you go throughout the rest of our day. Some sunny breaks this morning. Then mostly cloudy skies, tracking some flurries and snow showers north and west of Long Island. There will be a chance that we see one nuisance festive flakes coming on through a rain shower, snow shower, it's cold this morning and temperatures once again will struggle to around 41 degrees for that high. You see a lot more clouds during our afternoon and then skies will start to clear overnight. So let's take a look going towards your weekend. We're good Friday. Saturday is a great day and Sunday, stormy weather coming in strong winds and heavy rain as we track the storm, there's a potential of winds 40 to 50 MPH with even some higher gusts late Sunday afternoon, Sunday evening into Monday morning. Be weather aware this is going to impact travel and also may knock down some of those Christmas decorations high today, low forties. Again, the chance of a rain or snow shower this afternoon, partly cloudy tonight. Lows are in the thirties and you can see nice weather Friday, Saturday, stormy weather, gusty winds Sunday afternoon into Monday morning.

Mike Rizzo. It's a fun holiday and an exciting one too to celebrate with family and friends. And look, here we go. The evening forecast as the sun comes down tonight, temperatures near 37 degrees, a few clouds happy Hanukkah to everyone who celebrates. It's going to be a really nice night. Just a little chilly too. So dress as something nice and get to wherever you're going to enjoy the evening. Of course, the festival of lights begins tonight. So here we go. This is what we know and what we don't about Sunday's weather, we know that it will rain Sunday and it's likely going to be at night. However, at what time, it's kind of unsure still. It's to be determined. Likely after sunset on Sunday downpours absolutely damaging gusts. Yes, that's going to be coming through too. So we definitely need to be aware of this as we head into Sunday's time period. I know we have a couple of days to work it out. It is Thursday after all, but I do want to be introducing that concept to you now and I'll give you more details as they continue to unfold and we have some more this morning. Here's a look at the future cast. Now, I do want to emphasize that our communities in northwestern New Jersey in Warren County along County road 519 out toward route 46. Just please be aware that there could be some very light snow showers or flurries this morning. Now, it is below freezing in those communities. So that could cause for a little bit of an accumulation probably on the edges of the roadway. Just be aware it could be a little slippery, especially if that flurry comes in a little bit, uh, heavier as a light snow shower. We'll keep you posted on that. We see it on the radar 31 degrees this morning. It's cold. I'm sorry, tomorrow morning it's cold again. We don't really have much to worry about tomorrow because the sun is going to be shining. It's really nice. A west southwest wind comes through and temperatures push near 50 degrees. We hold on to the fifties into Saturday too. Before that active weather rolls in for Sunday.
