The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has identified the hiker who died while hiking Sleeping Giant State Park on Monday morning.
That hiker was identified as 23-year-old William Gatch, of Georgia.
They say Gatch fell from an unmarked trail and was found in the woods. Officials say his death was likely an accident.
EnCon Police are investigating.
Quinnipiac University tells News 12 there is no connection between the school and Gatch. The Mount Carmel Campus is located adjacent to the state park.
