A teenager who suffered a severe brain injury is now saying a ‘Game of Thrones’ actress helped him recover.

In 2016, Theo Applebaum was in gym class when his right arm and leg went limp and his speech became slurred.

Doctors at Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla say he suffered a stroke which then was complicated with a brain hemorrhage.
Applebaum couldn't move or talk, but when he heard ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke also suffered two brain aneurysms, it inspired him to fight to recover. "She helped me because there's not a lot of celebrities or people in general that have injuries like this,” says Applebaum.

Theo began to draw portraits of his friends and especially his inspiration Emilia Clarke. He hopes one day he'll get the chance to give it to her personally.
