The wake for the Yonkers minor league baseball prospect who was shot in the head and killed in a drive-by shooting last month has been set for Wednesday.
The wake for Michael Nolan will be held at Hodder-Farenga Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at St. Paul's Church on McLean Avenue in Yonkers Thursday.
Nolan was shot twice, including once in the head, in a drive-by in a Burger King parking lot on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers on Sept. 18. He died three weeks later.
Nolan's father has called for an end to youth gun violence.
Green and gold ribbons have appeared along Odell Avenue in the neighborhood where the 23-year-old grew up. The colors represent the Oakland A's -- the Major League Baseball team that drafted the towering 6-foot-7-inch left-handed pitcher.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Nolan's parents say the decision to donate their son's organs has saved the lives of five people.
